Fibre & Communication

In recent years it has become apparent that fiber optics are steadily replacing copper wire as an appropriate medium of signal transmission.  Audio, Data and Video can be transmitted seamlessly at high speed along great distances and today, fiber provides the backbone for many network systems.

There are many benefits to utilizing fiber: fiber optic networks operate at high speeds, up into gigabits; the bandwidth has a large carrying capacity; signals can be transmitted without needing to be "refreshed" or strengthened; fiber has a greater resistance to electromagnetic noise such as radios, motors or other nearby cables; and fiber optic cables cost much less to maintain.   Basix International has extensive experience in this field of transmission and offers complete fiber optic and telecommunication solutions.

  • Planning and design of cable infrastructure
  • Fiber Optic Cabling
    • Overhead and Underground installations
    • Blown Fiber installations and maintenance
    • Fusion Splicing
    • OTDR Testing and trouble-shooting
    • Certification
  • Fiber Optic Installation
    • Multi-mode fiber optic cabling
    • Single-mode fiber optic cabling
    • Project Management
    • Site Maintenance

To drive service, security and operational improvements organizations need to leverage new technologies that integrate seamlessly in a secure and manageable network environment.

Numerous benefits can be derived from implementing an IP solution as opposed to a traditional analog solution.  IP-based communication platforms provide future upgrade paths and allow for the addition of other IP-based control devices.  An added advantage of an IP-based solution is the implementation of the NTC/IP communication standard, which in a nutshell allows any NTC/IP compliant device to communicate with another NTC/IP device or with any NTC/IP compliant software, thus in theory creating an open platform and standard.

Basix International specializes in the design, supply and installation of solar solutions for areas where electrical cabling is not possible.  In addition, the design, supply and installation of last mile wireless communications in areas its not feasible or practical to install fiber cable.
